Inglorious Bastards next for Tarantino

Writing it while he’s on the road

Quentin Tarantino’s long-planned World War II film “Inglorious Bastards” – which I believe Adam Sandler was being eyeballed for a role in at one stage – is still happening, according to the man himself.

Tarantino told SlashFilm.com that he’s finishing off the script as we speak.

“That will probably be the very next thing I do,” Quentin told the site at the “Grindhouse” junket. “Robert will probably be doing Sin City 2 coming up fairly shortly. I am going to kind of go on the road with this, around the earth here. I haven’t really done it in a big way in a long time where you spend six months doing it. But I also like writing on the road, it’s a really good time to do that so I will probably finish up ‘Inglorious Bastards’ while I am promoting ‘Grindhouse’.

Set in World War 2, Tarantino’s story – the treatment is rumoured to be some 600 pages! – revolves around group of soldiers on their way to be executed, only they get the chance for a reprieval. He describes them as “Not your normal hero types that are thrown into a big deal in World War II.”
