Iron Man 2 writer now working for Leftovers

“Mulholland Drive” star Justin Theroux – probably better recognized around Hollywood these days as an often-employed writer; Theroux worked on biggies like “Iron Man 2” and “Tropic Thunder” – is returning to his roots, accepting a full-time acting gig in a new cable series from “Star Trek Into Darkness” writer Damon Lindelof.

The HBO drama “The Leftovers” is an adaptation of Tom Perrotta’s book, which takes place after the Rapture happens – but not like it was expected to.

Deadline says :
It is the story of the people who didn’t make the cut… and a world that will never be the same. Theroux will play chief of police Kevin Garvey, a father of two who is trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy in a world that is starting to completely reject that notion.

Theroux’s already on the HBO worker record, having done stints on shows like “Sex in the City” and “Six Feet Under”.
