Is Steven Seagal a lock for Expendables 3!?

It’s a slow news day, so I’ll run it, by consider this one dubious until confirmed (if only because Sylvester Stallone likes to announce these types of things himself over on twitter). News out of Bulgaria is that Steven Seagal has officially signed on to join Stallone’s “Expendables 3”.

“Expendables” fansite ExBlog have discovered a bunch of Bulgarian newspapers claiming Seagal has signed on.

Today many Bulgarian news sites have reported again that Gibson has negotiated (or is) with Stallone to play the #1 villain role in EX3. In addition to reporting Gibson, there are now new elements in the Bulgarian reports confirming that Seagal will fight Gibson alongside Stallone, Statham & Lundgren, and that the script has been rewritten many times to create enough room for so many stars specially after Schwarzenegger has joined the cast, and to include Chan, Cage, Snipes, Jovovich & Rourke.

While Stallone had said in the past that he had spoken with Seagal about the role, and there was some sort of interest, it’s unlikely a bunch of Bulgarian newspapers would be the first to confirm it a done deal.

Should be it be true, Seagal will play one of the good guys; in this latest chapter, he and the Expendables would be out to take down a villain played by Mel Gibson.
Other new recruits for “Expendables 3” include Jackie Chan, Nicolas Cage and Milla Jovovich. Aussie Patrick Hughes (“Red Hill”) directs the movie, which reunites most of the cast of the original two movies including Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham and Randy Couture.
