Is this who Gunn has decided for Superman, Lois & Luthor roles!?

An update on last week’s ‘Superman Legacy’ screen tests

Warner Bros

Screen tests for James Gunn’s Superman Legacy took place at Warner Bros in Burbank over the weekend of June 17, with everyone from Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies), newcomer David Corenswet, and Rachel Brosnahan said to be among those testing for the key roles.

According to THR, in an article published earlier today, Gunn paired up some of the actors and showed assembled cuts of the screen cuts to studio bosses, including David Zaslav.

Nicholas Hoult and Rachel Brosnahan were paired; Tom Brittney and Phoebe Dynevor; and David Corenswet and Emma Mackey.

Skarsgard brothers Bill (It, John Wick Chapter 4) and Alexander (“True Blood”, Infinity Pool) reportedly tested for the role of Lex Luthor, while unnamed actors tested for members of superhero group The Authority.

Now, according to oft-reliable Twitter insider My Time to Shine Hello, those that most impressed were Corenswet and Mackey, as well as the younger Skarsgard (though The Hot Mic’s Jeff Sneider hears otherwise – that could simply mean one of those candidates, for instance Skarsgard, didn’t get the part he was going for but the others did).

Gunn hopes to have Superman: Legacy before cameras in early 2024, in time for a July 11, 2025, release. T
