Island escape for Leo and Marty

Dennis Lehane book comes to the big screen

Old buddies Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese will team once again for “Shutter Island”, based on the book of the same name by author Dennis Lehane (“Gone Baby Gone”), says Variety.

The pre-strike project is set to go in March, with Laeta Kalogridis (“Alexander”) finished, done, complete and fresh from Kinkos with the scrpt.

The drama is set in 1954, with DiCaprio in final talks to play U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels, who is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island.

Scouting will begin shortly on the film, which most likely will shoot in Massachusetts, Connecticut or Nova Scotia.
Initially, Scorsese and DiCaprio were eyeing “The Wolf of Wall Street” as their next unite, but “Shutter” simply came together quicker.
