Jared Leto’s Joker to get his own movie

A standalone “Joker” movie, based on Jared Leto’s incarnation of the character from “Suicide Squad”, is in early development at Warner Bros.

Variety have the scoop, adding that the new film – which Leto will also executive produce – is early in the conception stages, so no director or writer are currently attached.

This is the second film based on the Batman foe in the works, with Joaquin Phoenix attached to play the part in a Todd Phillips’ directed film.
