Jason Lee back on the Box

With the pain of “Alvin and the Chipmunks” now subsiding, Jason Lee’s headed back to work. The former “My Name is Earl” star has sold a new live-action series to Adult Swim, that he’ll headline and write.

“Shredd: The Jon Johnsonsen Story”, written by Lee and Luke Watson and produced by Lee and Jack Black, ”centers on Jon Johnsonsen (Lee) who, as a 17-year-old superstar skateboarder in 1985 was on top of the world until a risky skate move landed him in a coma for 25 years. When he wakes up, he is 42 but stuck in the 1980s mindset of a teenage boy and must cope with all the changes in his life” says Deadline.

Lee will direct the 11-minute pilot.

The actor was last seen in Kevin Smith’s “Cop Out”.
