Mallrats character returns for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

While there’s many rumors about who’ll be appearing in the film – everyone from Matt & Ben, cast members from “The Flash”, and Mark Hamill back as ‘Cock Knocker’ – they’ve managed to keep a tight lid on the supporting cast of the “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot”.

The film, now in production in New Orleans, sees Kevin Smith – who, of course, is also the writer & director – and Jason Mewes reprising 25-year-old characters Jay and Silent Bob in a comedy that takes the mickey out of Hollywood’s current trend of rebooting.. everything.

Jason Lee

Today on Instagram, Smith revealed another original ViewAskew alumna that will be returning for the film : Jason Lee, reprising his role as “Mallrats”‘ Brody. In the film “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back”, Lee played two characters – Brodie Bruce and Banky Edwards from “Chasing Amy’, so it’ll be interesting to see if he’s pulling double duty again here.

Considering Smith was ready to go on a “Mallrats” sequel series before the plug was pulled on it, and had everyone from Jeremy London to Shannen Doherty and Michael Rooker reprising their roles from the 1996 film in it, expect a few of those other guys to pop up in the “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” too.

“Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” is released in the fall.
