It’s safe to say that there’ll be nothing akin to “How to Lose Friends & Alienate People” or “Stick It” in Jeff Bridges’ immediate future, not after that terrific turn in “True Grit” and, of course, his earlier statue-snagging performance in “Crazy Heart” (“Tron Legacy” also made enough money to substantiate the plum offers that are flying The Dude’s way). Nope, Bridges is no doubt finding he’s inundated with the kind of epic offers once reserved for your De Niro’s and Eastwood’s.
Next ‘goodie’ for the “Nadine” star (obscure credit for those with a copy of Leonard Maltin’s on hand) is “The Seventh Son”, based on the book by Joseph Delaney. ‘It kiddies’ Alex Pettyfer (“I Am Number Four”) and Jennifer Lawrence (“X-Men : First Class”) are also in talks. Just Jared says Bridges will play an exorcist who trains Pettyfer’s character how to rid of demons.
Meantime, pre-order your copy of “TRON Legacy” if you’d like to see Bridges back as Kevin Flynn in a third film – the film’s future is dependent on the sales of the DVD and Blu-Ray.
