New images from director Jon M. Chu’s “Jem And The Holograms” have been released (USA Today).
Based on the original 1980s series from Christy Marx, the film follows a small-town girl as she catapults from underground video sensation to global superstar.
Aubrey Peeples stars as the titular character Jem with Stefanie Scott as Kimber, Aurora Perrineau as Shana, Hayley Kiyoko as Aja and Ryan Guzman as Rio. Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis are also attached to star in unknown roles.
Ryan Landels penned the script. Producers are Chu, Jason Blum (Blumhouse Productions), Scooter Braun (SB Projects), Bennett Schneir, and Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis of Hasbro Studios.
“Jem And The Holograms” opens October 23.
