John Boorman has decided it’s time to sequelize his 25-year-old flick “Hope and Glory”.
Variety says “Queen and Country”, which Caleb Landy Jones (“Contraband”) is circling, is based on Boorman’s own script. He and longtime producing partner Kieran Corrigan will produce.
“Hope and Glory”, which was one of the big Oscar gunrunners of 1988, fixed on a 9-year-old, growing up in London during WWII.
In “Queen and Country”, the now-grown lad is enlisted into going into battle himself – at the tail end of the Korean war.
Boorman’s as in love with the idea of making a sequel to “Hope and Glory” just as much as he’s seemingly gone gaga for it’s prospective star. In addition to “Queen and Country”, young Landy Jones is also attached to Boorman’s science-fiction film “Broken Dream.”
