“Not Fade Away” actor John Magaro has been cast in Angelina Jolie’s sophomore directing effort “Unbroken”, which begins lensing here in Australia shortly, says Deadline.
The film tells the true yarn of American Olympian turned WWII POW Louis Zamperini, played by Jack O’Connell.
Magaro plays Frank A.Tinker, an Air Force pilot and opera singer who makes friends with Zamperini en route t a POW camp.
Garrett Hedlund and Domhnall Gleeson (“About Time”) are also onboard.
Filming begins mid-October for a Christmas 2014 release.
