Johnny Depp is The Invisible Man

Johnny Depp will star as the titular character in Universal’s reboot of “The Invisible Man”.

Originally a novel by author H. G. Wells, Universal first adapted the story into a film in 1933. “The Invisible Man” centres on a scientist who finds a way to become invisible for devious purposes. The cost? His sanity.

Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan will produce the project. At this stage we don’t have any details on a potential writer or director.

“The Invisible Man” reboot is part of Universal’s moster universe revival. The studio is also remaking “The Mummy”, with Tom Cruise attached to star. That film will release in June 2017.

The news comes via Deadline.
