Joss Whedon sets up supernatural drama In Your Eyes at Bellwether

Last week it was announced that “Avengers” cap Joss Whedon and partner Kai Cole’s micro-studio Bellwether Pictures had completed – under the radar (yep, in this day-and-age, can you believe it!?) – a contemporary version of “Much Ado About Nothing”, starring largely those who have worked with Whedon on “Dollhouse”, “Buffy”, “Angel” and “Firefly”.

The company announced today a second filmic venture, “In Your Eyes”, a lovey-dovey supernatural thing about two seemingly polar opposites who are deeply connected in ways neither could have ever imagined.

Deadline says Whedon wrote the script, but won’t direct. Brin Hill is helming.

In Your Eyes is a metaphysical love story about two seemingly polar opposites who are deeply connected in ways neither could have ever imagined. “When I wrote In Your Eyes, I didn’t have the wherewithal (or the moxie) to make it without an established production house,” Whedon wrote in a statement. “I believe, as I did then, that it’s a pretty timeless romance, and now, with the creation of Bellwether Pictures (and Brin Hill’s elegant, passionate take on the piece), I have the opportunity to prove it. (I also have a 37% increase in moxie.) I love this team and I can’t wait to see them bring In Your Eyes to life.”

Expect word on casting for the film, which shoots in Feb, soon.
