The “Jurassic World” trailer that hit yesterday went down well with most, but many did bite back at the insane and seemingly excessive usage of CGI that’s purpotedly in the film.
The CGI tampering was obvious from the very beginning of the trailer – with even the gates to ‘Jurassic World’ seemingly created on a computer.
Good news? A lot of that CGI will be replaced with practical effects by the time the movie comes out.
Director Colin Trevorrow addressed the concerns that the movie will be unremittingly full of “Phantom Menace”-style CGI for it’s duration.
@alexfieldsman the gate will be practical. Real wood, concrete and steel.

@TheHoyt08 The gate is practical, the environment isn't. That shot was made specifically for the trailer. The film will be different.

In other words, the movie ISN’T done yet – they had to use CGI to finish up some of those bits so they could have the trailer ready in time.
