Justice League set pic, filming date announced

Warner Bros. Pictures will kick off Zack Snyder’s two-part “Justice League” on April 11th, the studio announced today.

For those with access to a calendar, you’ll see that that’s two weeks after “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” hits cinemas.

The announcement would suggest that rumours Warner have got cold feet on their “Justice League” film – following mixed reactions from those who’ve sneaked “Dawn of Justice” – are untrue.

Filming on the two-part “Justice League” series will kick off at Warner Bros. Leavesden studios in southeast England, and continue on in London and Ireland.

The first movie, expected to band together heroes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and Aquaman, will hit November 17 2017.

The sequel, which will be shot separately and not back-to-back, is tentatively scheduled for a 2019 release.

Snyder tells EW : “The idea that we could begin to boot up a Justice League concept was a cool thing. It was a little bit of an ‘about time’ moment, and I don’t blame [the studio] for feeling that way, because it’s a long time coming. But I do feel like it’s a little bit of a creative hurdle. It seems like an easy thing to do at first glance, the idea that, ‘Oh, we just get the rest of the superheroes in there.’ But you have to [establish] a world where they can exist.”

Over on social media, Snyder has revealed a pic from the set of the movie which besides featuring Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa, also features a few Easter Eggs (check out the costumes in the back!) in the background.
