Kevin Costner’s high school coach movie pushed back

Kevin Costner’s “McFarland USA” has been pushed back three months.

Disney has re-slated the sports drama to February 20 from an original date of November 21.

The film is based on the true story of a coach who creates a high school track team that overcomes social and physical boundaries to become champions. It is set in the 1980s in a predominantly Hispanic town in California.

The film will open on the Feb 20 date against Relativity’s Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman starer “Jane Got a Gun” and Open Road’s “The Gunman” starring Sean Penn.

Mayhem Pictures’ Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray (“Million Dollar Arm”) are producing.
