Kevin Spacey will star opposite Nicholas Hoult in “Rebel in the Rye”, a film about the formative years of “The Catcher In The Rye” author J.D. Salinger.
Danny Strong (exec producer of “Empire”) is directing the film from the script he adapted from Kenneth Slawenski’s biography “JD Salinger: A Life”.
Hoult will star as Salinger and Spacey will play Whit Burnett, a professor at Columbia and editor of Story Magazine, who became a mentor to the young Salinger.
