R.I.P.D

-Ryan Reynolds is to star in yet another comic-book based flick. The “Wolverine” and “Green Lantern” star will front “R.I.P.D” (Rest in Peace Department), a Rob ‘xXx’ Cohen-produced actioner about “two cops, one recently dead and a gunslinger who’s been dead for hundreds of years who work on the Rest in Peace department – which is the police department of the dead. And they basically…it takes place on a normal day and it’s about trying to keep the dead quiet”, Cohen tells Collider.

Fantastic Voyage

-Paul Greengrass (“The Green Zone”) will direct the James Cameron-produced [3D] remake of “Fantastic Voyage” (Variety).

Sex and the City 2

-John Corbett has confirmed rumours that his “Sex and the City” character Aidan will make an appearance in the upcoming movie sequel. “These rumours started about seven months ago because somebody took a picture of me in Morocco,” Corbett told US chatshow host Ellen DeGeneres. “I’ve felt really bad because for the last six months, every time somebody said ‘Are you in this movie?’ I had to lie about it. But I just found out I’m going to be in the trailer so I get to break the news on your show that Aidan gets to come back.” (Monsters & Critics)

Scream 4

-“Scream 4” scribe Kevin Williamson talks to IF about how different the upcoming horror sequel would’ve been had Neve Campbell not been persuaded to come aboard.

American Pie 4

-In addition to writing the film, “Harold & Kumar” creators Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossber will be directing the fourth “American Pie” movie. As a consequence of the duo’s anointment to the “Pie” reboot, they’ve had to hand the directing reigns on “A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas”, filming this Summer, over to MTV alum Todd Strauss Schulson (Risky Business).

xXx 3

-The long-gestating “xXx” is moving from Columbia to Paramount – and as a result, has reignited the interest of director Rob Cohen and added the ever-so-popular ‘3D’ element. In addition to star Vin Diesel, Samuel L.Jackson will also be back for the new 3D sequel (Deadline).

Captain America

-‘Captain America’ contender Sebastian Stan (TVs “Gossip Girl”) has – as a consequence of losing the ‘Cap’ role to Chris Evans – been asked to play the superhero’s sidekick, Bucky Barnes, in the Joe Johnston-directed “First Avenger : Captain America” movie (Variety).

The Three Musketeers

-“Bourne Identity” director Doug Liman will direct Warner Bros’ new “Three Musketeers” flick. This, one of two new “Musketeer” films in the works (the one a Paul W.S Anderson 3D version), is said to play up more of the “sexier” and action-centric elements of the story (Heat Vision).

The A-Team

-Fox released a new poster and trailer for Joe Carnahan’s highly-anticipated “A-Team” movie yesterday – and I tell ya, this look like’s it’s gonna be a hoot! (Coming Soon).

Mr Popper’s Penguins

-“Greenberg” writer/director Noah Baumbach and star Ben Stiller look set to reteam on a feature film version of Richard and Florence Atwater’s “Mr. Popper’s Penguins”. The children’s story tells the story of a house-painter who inadvertently inherits twelve penguins (Variety).

Two and a Half Men

-Big story of the day in TV-ville is that Charlie Sheen’s quit “Two and a Half Men”. A source told People Magazine, “Charlie’s just done,” says a set source. “And he’s quietly telling his friends he’s not coming back.”
