The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed an anachronistic rumour that the “Tomb Raider” film series is to receive the reboot treatment.
The trade reports that Graham King’s GK films – whose latest film “Rango” is currently straddling the number ‘1’ on the U.S box office charts – has acquired the rights to the franchise and plans to “Batman Begins”-elize the series. The new film, seemingly set years before Angelina Jolie’s bikini took up archeology, will be released in 2013.
According to GK Films, the goal is to “create daring new adventures for the young and dynamic Lara Croft.”
If it were 2009, Megan Fox would likely be the leading contender for the job. Here’s my 2011 suggestion.
