Legal Woes Holding Back T4

Yes, that’s right – again

In todays edition of “Variety”, Janet Shprintz has reported that the next installment of “The Terminator” franchise is undergoing the same kind of problems as “Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines” did – namely legal problems.

MGM & Halcyon Co. (who hold the rights to the franchise now) are locked up over distribution deals, and it looks as though it’s all headed to court, resulting in further delays to any possible future big screen ventures. MGM have apparently sought control over budget, script, director and male lead (basically, the whole thing). Halycon Co. are claiming that MGM were only ever entitled to a 30 day “look-see”, and that’s now passed……

At any rate, the script for “T4” has been written by John Brancato and Michael Ferris, who wrote “T3” – “The Sarah Connor Chronicles”, which was ordered to series by FOX, will be the next appearance by any kind of Terminator when it hits the small screen mid-season.
