LEGO The Movie!

What next, a fuckin’ “Monopoly” movie? (Oh, I see….oops!)

Warner Bros have greased the wheels on a LEGO movie – yes, a LEGO movie. Those rigid pallid baldies are set to hump a mesh screen…. And if we’re lucky, Nathan Lane might even lend his lungs to it (wouldn’t that be just swell?).

Scribes Dan and Kevin Hageman are penning the script for the family comedy that will mix live action and animation. Variety says Warners are keeping the plot tightly under wraps (because there isn’t one? – Ed), but it’s described as ‘’an action adventure set in a Lego world’’.

Dan Lin (“Sherlock Holmes”, the upcoming “Tom and Jerry”) will produce the movie through his Lin Pictures.

Apparently the Danish brainchild of the LEGO brand has been poached by producers for years, wanting to make a movie of his yellow family – but he’s turned down every offer… until now. One can only assume it’s because the line of ‘Watchmen’ LEGO didn’t sell as well as hoped… and they need to get back on track, cabbage-speaking.

The WB LEGO movie has apparently been in development for over a year – with the powers-that-be jetting back-and-forth between the states and Denmark, whether they’ve met the brains trust to doodle down ideas.

Apparently the decision to move forward with the LEGO movie stems from the success of last week’s “G.I Joe” flick – which made quite a sumly figure in it’s first few days of release.

Next Week : “Hungry, Hungy Hippo” the Movie gets the greenlight.
