“Shutter Island” author Dennis Lehane will reteam with the film’s star Leonardo DiCaprio on 20th Century Fox crime pic “Travis McGee”, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Lehane, who is also developing three other projects with DiCaprio, will write the screenplay for the feature.
Based on John D. MacDonald’s 1964 mystery novel ”The Deep Blue Good-by”, “Travis McGee” fixes on a self-described “salvage consultant”, to be played by DiCaprio. Fox is eyeing a potential franchise.
Fox has been developing “Travis McGee” since 2011; among the directors that have flirted with the project, Paul Greengrass and Oliver Stone.
