Levy in talks to make Minecraft movie

Shawn Levy (“This is Where I Leave You”, “Night at the Museum”) is in talks to direct the feature adaptation of video game “Minecraft” to the big screen, says Deadline.

The project is set up at Warner Bros, with Roy Lee (“The Lego Movie”) serving as one of the producers.

In the actual game, players create their own avatar and are dropped into a blank world filled with nocturnal monsters. Players use cubes to create, build, and destroy structures and other forms across multiple game modes and various players.

Warner acquired “Minecraft” in February.
