Marisa Tomei offered Spider-Man reboot

Academy Award Winner Marisa Tomei will play a not-so-old Aunt May in the “Spider-Man” reboot, says Variety.

Sony Pictures reportedly offered “The Wrestler” actress the part last week. Should the versatile thesp accept she won’t be seen in the role – newly vacated by Sally Field, of “Amazing Spider-Man” and it’s sequel – until the 2017 solo “Spider-Man” movie, as opposed to Tom Holland, who’ll make his debut as the web-slinger in next year’s “Captain America : Civil War”.

Tomei’s deal is said to encompass several films.

Jon Watts will direct the July 2017 “Spider-Man” reboot, which places Peter Parker back in high-school.
