Matthew McConaughey is Born to Run

Matthew McConaughey is attached to star in the film adaptation of Christopher McDougall’s book “Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Super Athletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen”, Deadline reports.

The book centres on an award-winning journalist and often-injured runner who went to Mexico’s isolated Copper Canyons to find out how the Tarahumara Indians honed the ability to run hundreds of miles without rest or injury. Eventually the journey led to an epic race in the Copper Canyons that pitted America’s best ultra-runners against the tribe.

Matthew Michael Carnahan will adapt the script with Mickey Liddell, Deb Newmyer and Lorenzo di Bonaventura producing.

In other McConaughey news, mining drama “Gold” will go into production in June in New York. The film, which stars the actor under the direction of Stephen Gaghan, will launch foreign sales at the European Film Market next week in Berlin.

McConaughey can next be seen in “The Sea Of Trees”.
