Maze Runner production delayed as star Dylan O’Brien recovers from on-set injury

Production on 20th Century Fox’s “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” has been delayed indefinitely as star Dylan O’Brien recovers from an injury obtained on set last month.

O’Brien’s injury’s were described in a report as “concussion, facial fracture and lacerations.”

“The resumption of principal photography on ‘Maze Runer: The Death Cure’ has been further delayed to allow Dylan O’Brien more time to fully recover from his injuries,” Fox said in a statement Friday. “We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible.”

“His injuries are very serious, and he needs more time to recover,” said O’Brien’s publicist, Jennifer Allen (via THR).

E! also has an update, reporting O’Brien is likely to return to work next month.

“He’s healing very well,” co-star Giancarlo Esposito told the outlet. “He got put together a couple of weeks ago…He’s one tough cookie.”
