Mazeau writing feature adaptation of Manga Bleach

”Wrath of the Titans” scribe Dan Mazeau is getting back in bed with Warners for “Bleach”, a feature film based on the Manga property.

Peter Segal (“The Longest Yard”, “50 First Dates”) has been onboard to produce the film since 2010 and is likely to also direct, says Variety.

“Bleach” follows the adventures of ”Ichigo, a teenager who can see ghosts. When his family is attacked by a Hollow — a malevolent lost soul — Ichigo inadvertently absorbs the power to hunt Hollows. He then dedicates his life to protecting the innocent and helping tortured souls find peace.”

Warner Bros also have another Manga cum film in the works, “Akira”, which has been temporarily put on pause due to budgetary and script issues.

If that hiccup is anything to go by, expect Dolph Lundgren and Gary Busey to team for “Bleach” with Oren Peli’s regular cinematographer and effects team handling the heavy work on the film.
