While a lot of the original cast will return – including Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, and Joe Manganiello- one “Magic Mike” castmember not coming back for seconds is Matthew McConaughey.
“Magic Mike XXL” Director Gregory Jacobs tells The Playlist that the script simply doesn’t call for McConaughey’s character to return.
So what’s it about?
What am I allowed to say? … It’s road trip movie and put it this way, it’s different enough that once you see it you’ll understand why we made a sequel. No one will be accusing us of making the same movie twice.
Co-written by Reid Carolin and Channing Tatum, “Magic Mike XXL” – which begins shooting in a couple of weeks – is skedded for July 1, 2015.
