Blue Ranger to play young Dwayne Johnson in sequel
‘Power Rangers” star Michael Copon – he was the Blue Time Force Ranger on TVs “Power Rangers : Time Force”– has inherited the shaggy undies of The Rock to play The Scorpion King in the Russell Mulcahy-directed DVD prequel, ”The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian”.
The pic, which also stars fighter Randy Coulter and TV Conan Rolf Moeller, is now lensing in Cape Town (where another direct-to-video sequel, ”Starship Troopers : Marauder”, was recently filmed).
Universal tells us the new film tells of “young Mathayus’ rise to become the Scorpion King”.
