9/11 movie trailer : whose idea was this?

I’m all about biopics, movies based on true stories, real people… but with one condition: do it tastefully. Forgive me, but I don’t think this one falls into that category.

“9/11” is based on the events of September 11, 2001, but it seems as though it’s a completely made up story, and not one based on people who actually went through this tragedy. It stars Charlie Sheen (that says it all, really) as a man trapped in an elevator inside the north tower of the World Trade Centre after the buildings are struck with the planes. First of all, Sheen couldn’t play a serious role if it hit him square in the face, and secondly, isn’t he one of those “the terrorist attacks were an inside job by the US government” people? He’s long been an outspoken advocate for the conspiracy theories behind 9/11, not only shitting on the memory of those who lost their lives in the tragedy, but also making him look like somewhat of an idiot.

This image kinda sums up sitting through 2 hours of this shite:

The cast is rounded out by Gina Gershon as Sheen’s wife, Luiz Guzman (??) as another dude in the elevator, and strangely enough, Whoopi Goldberg as the elevator operator, who spends a lot of the trailer staring contemplatively and delivering such lines as “I need you…..to try and get the hell out of that elevator”. Chilling stuff. Not to mention she’s kinda smiling in the poster.

If you really wanna see this then check it out from September 8th. I’ll be washing my hair that day.
