Good evening Ladies & Gentlemen – it’s MailBag time (I know, it’s been a couple of weeks) – but I’m gonna do my best to help you out, but as always, if you missed the cut this week, you can always Email Clint with whatever your little hearts desire.
Q. Read your news on “Highlander: The Source”. In regards to the last thing that was said in the article about never watching the series. The show, besides the first movie, is the best thing in the “Highlander” Franchise. – Tom
A. Yeah, I only caught a few episodes of the show here & there myself, but I did like it – I’ve seen an “Ultimate Collection” box set around the traps that has every season… maybe the films as well, not sure about that.
Q. Clint Morris asked on Moviehole if “Highlander” the series was worth watching and I just thought I would let him know that it is a wonderful series and very much worth watching, Regards – Mark

Q. Hello Clint, I arrived at your site via HPANA( a Harry Potter site), that sent me to a Daniel Radcliffe site, that sent me to you and your review of the forthcoming movie “December Boys”. My husband and I were in London in the spring and saw the revival of Equus with Daniel Radcliffe (my husband saw the original Equus on Broadway in the 1970s), and were impressed with his acting ability on stage. He wasn’t perfect, but he was certainly able to pull it off (so to speak!) and gave a commendable performance. So, what’s my point? I’m happy to read that this new movie is likely to work out for him, too. He is indeed a huge marketing tool, and he’s having a bit of a “moment” now, that I find myself hoping for him it doesn’t all come crashing down at some point. One thing that struck both my husband and I when we saw him in person is how incredibly young he really is, “he’s just a kid” were my husband’s words. He’s a kid in a grown up game, and it’s to his credit that he hasn’t gone totally off the rails! I read that “December Boys” was made quite a while ago, and had wondered if the delay in its release meant bad things for the film, as I think delays often do. It seems like that’s not the case, according to you! I’m certain that Daniel Radcliffe has expert managers and “his people” seem to realize that Harry will only be flying that broom for a little while longer, and they’re seeing to it that he makes the most of those tailwinds related to that ride. Good for him, I just hope the poor guy gets to take a break somewhere along the line! Anyway, I look forward to reading what else you may have to say about the movie later on. I know the release is limited in the US, but I hope it’s a movie that my eight year old daughter would enjoy. Is it appropriate? She’s a big fan of the Harry books, like me, but even she realizes the films don’t capture the magic in the same way. Thanks for your time, and for the enjoyable review. – Lynn
A. OK, it was made in… let me see, 2005 I think… sometime late 2005 from memory. So, given shooting, editing, allowing for promotion time…. Yeah, around a year or so can be pretty standard for Indie flicks from time to time – but rest assured, it’s not because the film is a bomb. As for your Daughter…. It’s a tough call, it’s not like taking her to “Hostel 2” or anything….. yeah, should be OK.

A. Well, my first MailBag in a while and I get a bona-fide celebrity letter. OK, I’m guessing Roberto is annoyed with Mark’s review – and all I’ll say is that Mark is of course entitled to his opinion – But…. I have also now seen “Transformers”, and I disagree with his review – I dug it a lot (Roberto, you can send that cheque to the address we discussed) – it was a lot like “The Rock”, “Con Air” kind of movie, just a lot of cool shit happening on screen for the runtime, and I got exactly what I was expecting – giant robots beating the shit out of each other. Roberto & Alex do make a hell of a team though – they wrote some of my favorite “Alias” episodes (“Colorblind” in particular), and they wrote the kick-ass “Mission: Impossible 3” – but now comes the fun part with the new “Star Trek” film – good luck with that crowd brother – they’re gonna drive you nuts.
Q. Moviehole, Great site! I tend to visit daily but I just realized something….didn’t you have an “In Development” section? Or something similar to that? Thanks, – Dodger Dan
A. Ummmmmm ye… No. Yeah, we do – I’ve got an idea for one that I’ll work on shortly – but if you or anyone else wants a bit of an in-depth report on the status of a long-in development film, shoot through an Email.
Q. Is their ever going to be a “Matrix 4”? I keep hearing rumors! – Paul
A. I don’t think there will be Paul – I hear the same thing time & again, but given the general apathy towards the series now by even the most die-hard of fans, I just don’t see it on the cards.
Q. What happened to the Swank “Iron Man” news? I think she’s also a good actress but doing duds of late. The Oscar curse must be true. It will be cool if she does “Iron Man” and even better if she was Pepper Potts in the first place not Paltrow. But Swank as a great person, I’m disappointed in her when she humiliated her husband in a magazine interview. And I lose respect for people when they ruin lives and marriages because the man she’s with is married. – Mandy
A. I didn’t actually read the article, but from what I understand, Jon’s words were taken out of context, so you can pretty much dismiss it. Alright – to wrap up, here’s your favourite, Holden:

hey clint i just found out that collier and co high pursuit 2 is in workers and john schinder is comeing back to make the movie and write the story line i think this frist is going be really good because pepole want good action charger movie any way to me that,s worth watching heck maybe they make thrid collier and high pursuit 3 yeah and then dukes of hazzard 3 the movie any way holden
