From a Hornet to Henry she goes….
Cameron Diaz will star opposite Oscar Nominee Colin Firth (“The King’s Speech”) in the Joel and Ethan Coen scripted “Gambit”.
The film, a remake of an old Michael Caine/Shirley MacLaine caper, will be directed by Michael Hoffman (“The Last Station”).
“Gambit” tells of a wealthy collector (Firth) who hatches a plan to sell a fake Monet.
Hollywood Reporter says Diaz plays the MacLaine role, “a Texas steer roper” who is hired “to play the part of a woman whose grandfather liberated the painting at the end of WWII.”
The FilmNation project shoots in May.
