National Treasure series coming to Disney Plus

The “National Treasure” series has been given the green light for Disney+, reports Deadline. The series has been in development for some time, but finally has the go-ahead.

The show will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Cormac and Marianne Wibberley, who co-wrote the films’ screenplays.

The “National Treasure” series will follow a new set of characters and reimagine the franchise through the eyes of its lead character, a 20-year-old DREAMer named Jess Morales. Mira Nair will be directing, and navigate a series of themes such as identity, community, patriotism and gets to write history as Jess and a diverse group of friends embark on an adventure to uncover her mysterious family history and recover lost treasure.
