Netflix announces cast of True Memoirs of an International Assassin

Zulay Henao, Andy Garcia, Maurice Compte, Kelen Coleman, Andrew Howard, Rob Riggle, Leonard Earl Howze, Yul Vasquez and Kim Coates are joining Kevin James in upcoming Netflix action/comedy “True Memoirs of an International Assassin”.

Jeff Wadlow (“Kick Ass 2”) is directing the film about a mild-mannered would-be author gets mistaken for a killer-for-hire when his fictional novel about an international assassin is published as a true story. The book is a huge success and he is suddenly kidnapped and taken to Venezuela and forced into an assassination plot. The film will premiere on the streaming service in 2016.

Principal photography began in Atlanta on November 16, 2015 and will wrap in the Dominican Republic on February 12.

The film is a co-production between Kevin Frakes, Mark Fasano and Ankur Rungta of PalmStar Media, Todd Garner of Broken Road Productions and Raja Collins and Justin Begnaud of Global Film Group. The script was written by Jeff Morris and Jeff Wadlow. Guy Riedel serves as executive producer. The rest of the filmmaking team includes director of photography Peter Collister (Underworld: Awakening), production designer Toby Corbett (Pitch Perfect 2), and costume designer Lizz Wolf (The Expendables 3). The film is edited by Sean Albertson (The Expendables 3).
