New Bat movie in the works

With music by Meat Loaf?

Meat Loaf’s video clips have always been pretty much grand-scale excuses for short films anyway – so why doesn’t he go the whole hog and make a full-length pic?

Apparently The Meat is in talks to do a “Bat Out of Hell” movie – having now milked the title enough in the world of music – with the big guy already attached to play a role in the thing.

The veteran rocker is in talks with several studios about a film – meetings timed to clash with the release of his latest album, “Bat out of Hell III” – that he’ll likely produce. He’s not writing it, though, and from the sounds of it, will not have the lead role in the movie. The film’s greenlight hinges on just how well his latest album does, apparently.

Meat Loaf’s about to be seen in the will-probably-be-a-hit “Tenacious D: In the Pick of Destiny”, so he’s probably going to go up a rank. Good time to try and get the ‘Bat’ pic off the ground.
