Hot on the heels of yesterday’s news that a female Thor will take place of her male counterpart (in the comics, anyway) Marvel has announced – via The Colbert Report – that ‘The Falcon’ will become the new ‘Captain America’.
Sam Wilson, formerly known as The Falcon, will be inheriting the red, white and blue from October.
The character appeared in this year’s “Captain America : The Winter Soldier”, as played by Anthony Mackie.
Wilson, who will be the seventh to fight crime under the ‘Captain America’ guise, will make his debut with the shield in Captain America #25, written by Rick Remender with art by Carlos Pacheco.
