New directors for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

One of the best family films in recent years would be Chris Miller and Phil Lord’s “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”. Here was a film that had a terrific script, looked a treat (the 3D looked marvelous too) and honestly had something in it for all ages.

Though it was planned that Miller and Lord would also direct the sequel, the duo have gotten themselves so busy (they’re in post on “21 Jump Street” and are also developing the LEGO movie) that Sony Animation have had to replace the names on the fold-up director’s chairs with Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn.

Variety says both Cameron and Pearn worked, in a smaller capacity, on the original film with Lord and Miller suggesting that the latter duo recommended them for the job.
John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the duo behind the not-so-family-friendly “Horrible Bosses”, penned the script.
