Cinema has been threatening us with an “Austin Powers 4” since.. well, the dimish “Goldmember” was released in 2002. It’s only now, what with Mike Myers career in the toilet (ironically, the same place he dropped the engagement ring for his then-girlfriend before he could pop the question; true story that one), that Myers is considering shagging again.
HitFix reports that Myers, whose last film “The Love Guru” was canned turd, is ‘signed, sealed, delivered’ for “Austin Powers 4”.
No word on whether Jay Roach is directing, Michael Caine is desperate enough to reprise his role as Powers Sr, or if Robert Wagner already has his agent on the phone but the bigger question is, ‘Is there any joy to be had in a fourth Austin Powers’? Even after two of the things, the joke became stale.
Is there any hope for a fourth instalment in the money-spinning series?
