Nominations for the 85th Academy Awards®

It’s late where I am. I’m understandably tired. And my words will likely read like a mesh of rejected dialogue from “Smokey Bites the Dust” and my Year 12 Graduation speech alas…as I said earlier this evening on the social nets, I haven’t much cared for the Oscars since RoboCop and Chevy Chase stopped presenting Awards. I joke, but that’s also not far from the truth. I think it’s just that the Awards have become increasingly more predictable, an, well, less exciting (Bo Derek’s responsible for many damp briefs back in the day), as the years have ticked on. And lets admit it, RoboCop looked sweet in a tux (Betcha Ed-209 was willing to give up his arm-wear for just one night for a nice oil down with Murphy, wearing that garb and all. Or Chevy Chase) and brought spice to any sluggish awards ceremony.

Alas, the Oscars are here again – with Seth MacFarlane hosting, which should be interesting! – and this year’s Nominees have been unveiled by Oscar faves, erm, ‘Stewie’ the snooty bub and ‘Gwen Stacy’ from the “The Unnecessary Spider-Man”. The list? Predictable as a ‘Grease’ castie around a sauna but I do welcome the addition of to the register. Yahoo for Amy Adams! Christoph Waltz! Wreck-it Ralph! Django Unchained! Argo!
