Several sites, including Coming Soon, The Telegraph and Elites are reporting that Oscar Winner Matt Damon might be about to cycle into a biopic on Cyclist Lance Armstrong.
According to Coming Soon, Men’s Journal talked to the U.S. Cyclist – who is about to win his seventh straight Tour de France on Sunday – who revealed that Damon’s keen on playing him in a movie.
"I’ve had the chance to get to know Matt Damon. He is a fan of cycling and has a connection to cancer. He has even expressed an interest in the role," Armstrong said in the magazine.
According to The Telegraph, Scott Silver has been asked by Sony Pictures to do for Armstrong’s life what he did for the rapper Eminem in "8 Mile".
Armstrong is most famous for recovering from cancer to subsequently win the Tour de France a record six consecutive times—1999 to 2004. His success prompted some to nickname the event Tour de Lance.
