So Justin Lin is directing “Star Trek 3”, but Roberto Orci remains on as a producer and the film’s screenwriter, right?
Not entirely. According to the man himself, while he stay on as a producer his script for the third film has been tossed out.
“I’m producing, [N]othing more or less”, Orci told TrekMovie.com readers.
Orci’s screenplay reportedly involved time-travel and… William Shatner’s Captain Kirk. Online reports suggest it wasn’t up to scratch though, so it’s gone.
“The story we are talking about would be awesome, hang in there!”, Orci says.
