Paramount drops The Little Prince a week out from the planned release

As director Mark Osborne notes, these are strange times for his animated film “The Little Prince”.

Less than a week out from the planned March 18 release date, Osborne has taken to Twitter to announce the film will no longer be released by Paramount in the US on Friday.

Over a series of Tweets, Osborne said, “Many thanks to everyone for the outpouring of love and support in these strange times. As it turns out, the much anticipated U.S. release of this special and unique film will have to be anticipated just a little bit more. All I can say is #thelittleprince will in fact be released by another distributor later this year.”

Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, James Franco, Marion Cotillard, Benicio Del Toro and Ricky Gervais are among the voice cast. Entertainment One will release the film in Canada next weekend.
