Paul Feig’s Simple Favor is no laughing matter

“Ghostbusters” helmer Paul Feig is putting the funny stuff on pause for a couple of months to direct a stone-cold thriller.

Per The Tracking Board, Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick are in talks to play headline girls for “A Simple Favor”, an adaptation of the Darcy Bell novel of the same name about a single mother whose life is turned upside down when her best friend vanishes. Story has been compared to, understandably, “A Girl on the Train”.

Though Fox2000 have had the rights since 2016, Lionsgate are in the midst of nabbing them at which stage they’ll plonk Feig behind a camera and get going.

Jessica Sharzer (“American Horror Story”) adapted the novel.
