Pic, Release News, Trailer for Road Train

That’s the first official pic (above) from the new Aussie thriller “Road Train” starring Xavier Samuel (“The Twilight Saga : Eclipse”) and Sophie Lowe (“Beautiful Kate”).

The debut feature film of director Dean Francis, “Train” will be released in the USA under the title “Road Kill” after scoring a massive US release with the genre-film juggernaut Fangoria. The flick will be one of eight new films screened at the Fangoria FrightFest.

As part of the deal, “Road Kill” will be distributed in 3,500 Blockbuster video outlets across the United States as well as VOD, online and the possibility of a US theatrical release.

Francis said, “Its huge affirmation for a small Australian film like ours to be picked up on such a scale. Fangoria is a genre institution and they know what works for audiences. ROAD KILL is a distinctly Australian take on a time-honored genre and I’m excited to see what American fanboys make of it”.

The supernatural thriller tells the story of four teenagers who are menaced by a gaint, malevolent truck in the Australian outback.

News of the Fangoria deal comes less than a week before the “Road Train”/”Road Kill” World Festival Premiere at the Dungog Film Festival on Friday 28th May, 7:30pm at the James Theatre. After the screening, star Sophie Lowe will perform music from the film with other members of the cast.
