Pirates 5 sets sail Down Under

“Pirates of the Caribbean 5” is officially a-go!

Production kicked off in Queensland, Australia today with Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning directing.

Filming will take place in its entirety at the Village Roadshow Studios and on locations in Queensland.

Johnny Depp of course returns as Captain Jack Sparrow. He is joined by cast-mates Geoffrey Rush, Kevin R. McNally, Stephen Graham Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites and Golshifteh Farahani.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” sees deadly ghost pirates led by Captain Salazar (Bardem) escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea, including Captain Jack Sparrow, whose only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.

Jeff Nathanson penned the script. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing with executive producers Chad Oman, Joe Caracciolo, Jr. and Brigham Taylor.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will hit cinemas on July7, 2017.
