Play the new Gangster Squad game Tough Justice!

Rat-a-tat-tat!

Following on from the global success of the ”Expendables 2: Deploy & Destroy” online game, Roadshow Films and Soap Creative have team up again to conceive a new online game built around the stupendous upcoming gangster flick “Gangster Squad”.

“Gangster Squad : Tough Justice” is now up at toughjustice.com.au.

Get ready to battle level after level of mobster Mickey Cohen’s goons and upgrade your skills and loot crates for more firepower, but keep on your toes or you’ll be sleeping with the fishes.

“We wanted to capture the atmosphere of the era to make sure the player felt fully immersed in the experience,” Roadshow Films’ National Marketing Manager Phil Oneile said of the project.

“At its heart, Gangster Squad is an action movie, so we knew we couldn’t skimp on that in the game. It might seem like a walk in the park at the beginning, but you’ll start sweating as you progress through the levels. This is some old-fashioned, hardboiled action.”

Lee Richards from Soap Creative added, “The 1940s were a colourful period and our voice-over actors had a blast with all the gangster slang. We put a lot of effort into the sound design to create the right mood and tension. Close your eyes mid-game and you’d think you were actually raiding a mob-controlled speakeasy.”

Gameplay Overview

The player controls a single character from a selection of three characters in a top-down (isometric) perspective as they move around an area overrun with enemy gangsters, and survive wave after wave of epic gun fights.

Initially equipped with only a basic pistol, increasingly more powerful period-appropriate weapons are made available by finding them or taking them from enemies.

The player can only withstand a certain number of hits before dying, and must take constant care to stay out of bullet fire and away from bat-wielding, mobster goons.

The level will contain many areas of cover and partial cover to position behind, and the player will need to make use of cover in order to increase survival chances.

Guns, ammunition, health kits and other bonus items frequently appear around the map, keeping the player moving and hunting for helpful items.

The enemies come in waves. When the last enemy is killed, the current wave ends, and after a short breather, the next wave commences. The final wave is the gangster boss and his most elite entourage.

Multiple characters are available to choose from and each has a different set of skills and proficiencies with each type of firearm, each with different health and speed.
