Well, wheel out the troth of Garmonbozia! “Twin Peaks” Season 3 is officially in production – 25 years after the second season finale – in North Bend, Washington.
The new series, written by David Lynch and Mark Frost, will air sometime on Showtime in 2016.
Twedes Cafe, better known to “Peaks” fans as the RR Diner, is being remodeled – as we speak – for the cable revival, with the cafe’s traditional neon sign being replaced by something more retro. Construction continues over the next couple of days on the site, making it look oh so.. 1990.

Suggesting nothings changed at the RR – let alone Twin Peaks (we’re guessing everything is still the same in town; time stands still up there, right? – Madchen Amick posted a pic of Shelley’s waitress uniform, suggesting not only is she about to start filming her scenes as everyone’s favourite mistreated missus but that her character still gets about in that same uniform.
feelin kinda blue today… or should I say turquoise 😉 #twinpeaksseason3 #TPS3 @SHO_Network pic.twitter.com/gfjYznFBF8

In addition, some of the other physical abodes used for filming, including Nadine & Ed’s home, are being tweaked for filming.

While Kyle MacLachlan and Amick (if the aforesaid post is anything to go by) would seem to be the only locks for the reboot, it’s widely believed that most of the original cast – notably Sheryl Lee, Dana Ashbrook, Ray Wise, Kimmy Robertson, Everett McGill, Wendy Robie, Sherilyn Fenn and Grace Zabriskie – are committed, with David Duchovny even expected to reprise his role as Agent Denis/Denise Bryson. No word yet on which of the Donnas we might see – series incarnation Lara Flynn Boyle or “Fire Walk with Me” replacement Moira Kelly. Clearly a star in his own right, Angelo Badalamenti has stared work on the new season score. Director/co-writer David Lynch is in town, readying the 6-week shoot. Filming will commence any day now – – or has it already started?
