Android is an intense sci-fi thriller about the lines we cross, and the price we pay to fulfil our desires. On a lonely spaceship orbiting Neptune, Mason Anders fulfils his dream to rebuild his dead wife, Beth (Kurylenko), and their son, Spencer, as androids. But when the androids begin demanding a life of their own, Mason’s life is suddenly in danger.  A battle of wits and strength ensues.  Will Mason prevail against the superior intellect and abilities of the androids, and can he make the ultimate sacrifice and destroy his family to save humanity?

“ANDROID is a masterfully crafted thriller that explores the very topical issues of artificial intelligence and ever-changing technology; but more importantly, it’s a story about what it means to be human,” said Wiluan and Mactaggart. “We’re elated to have Olga on board. She’s the perfect choice to bring an authentic sense of humanity and pathos to the character of Beth.”

“Olga is a captivating presence on screen who has proven she can hold her own after memorable turns in THE QUANTUM OF SOLACE and OBLIVION. Niall has written a page-turning script to mesmerize audiences in space while exploring universal themes of family and the need for basic human connections,” said Fortitude’s de Barros.

Olga Kurylenko recently finished shooting Giuseppe Tornatore’s LA CORRISPONDENZA with Jeremy Irons, and will next appear in A PERFECT DAY co-starring Benicio del Toro and Tim Robbins which world premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, recently screened at the London Film Festival and will be released by IFC Films in the US. Her past credits include THE NOVEMBER MAN co-starring Pierce Brosnan, OBLIVION with Tom Cruise, Terrence Malick’s TO THE WONDER and QUANTUM OF SOLACE opposite Daniel Craig.

British filmmaker Niall Johnson previously wrote and directed the comedy KEEPING MUM starring Rowan Atkinson, Kristin Scott Tomas, Maggie Smith and Patrick Swayze and wrote Universal Pictures’ box office hit supernatural thriller WHITE NOISE starring Michael Keaton.
