CASTING CALL FOR LINCOLN
A casting call has been issued for “Abraham Lincoln : Vampire Hunter” – and like “Man of Steel”, seems those involved aren’t against the idea of casting an unknown in the title role. What’s Playing says they’re looking for an actor that will play Abraham from ages 20 to 56. “At 20, not yet the iconic image we associate with our 16th President, this version of Abe is tall, boyish, and occasionally impulsive; a kind, intelligent, well-spoken and good-hearted man, if a bit awkward at social events and around the ladies. He’s also an extremely skilled fighter. Abe works as a shopkeeper, lawyer and burgeoning political figure by day. He woos Mary Todd and debates Stephen Douglas, preparing for an eventual run for the Presidency. Publicist Ronni Chasen’s murder may have been planned, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It was first though that the coldblooded killing may have been the result of a random carjacking. Still, there is no solid evidence in the case.

KIRSTEN DUNST TALKS SPIDER-MAN REBOOT
In an interview with Screen Junkies, Kirsten Dunst says she’s more than happy to see the “Spider-Man” series continue without her. “I feel like it was time, you know,” she said while promoting her upcoming film ”All Good Things”. “Sometimes they always want to push things for money reasons or whatever and it just didn’t come together the way they probably had wanted or envisioned. I like Andrew Garfield so much as an actor and Emma Stone so I think they’ll be great in the new version.”

Moviehole’s Guy Davis and I were just discussing this film yesterday, markedly our adoration for it. It feels like yesterday this thing came out (alas, it was 18 years ago!), and I remember clear-as-day planning a trip to the big smoke (we lived in the country) with my [late] buddy just so we could see it. Yup, four hours for a movie starring Ice Cube and Ice T! Spare me, it was ’92 – I blew smoke rings, wore my cap backwards, listened to 2LiveCrew and, well, had nothing better to do.
